Oxford Program to be given at Prestigious Oxford Royale Academy
Cooperstown, NY – High school students need to chart a course when choosing college and career paths and that is what local career coach, Steve Bohler will help them navigate this summer at a two week course at Oxford University in England. Bohler, founder and head career coach of the Oxford Program, was selected to give the student version of his successful Oxford Program process at the prestigious Oxford Royale Academy, a program that specializes in intensive academic programs for students wishing to spend time learning in the unique surroundings of Oxford University. “Most students are making life-molding career decisions with little else to go on than a gut feeling. Many students simply follow their parents’ choices in school and career. Many students think they know what they want to do, only to later find they made the decision for the wrong reasons. The way these decisions should be made is only after careful analysis of all the factors that make each student unique,” Bohler said. Using a cutting-edge curriculum, Bohler will coach students through a process of designing their ideal college and career direction. Five years out of college, Bohler found himself questioning his own career. A computer programmer position with a Wall Street firm offered him financial security, but little happiness. At 25, Bohler walked away from a career as the youngest executive at a large Wall Street investment bank, and went to England to coach the prestigious Oxford University lightweight rowing team. From this bold move he began to sculpt a new life and career that led to the founding of his program --The Oxford Program. “I only wish I had this type of program available when I was a teenager. Students who take the time to discover their true talents and passions are more likely to get better grades, feel happier about college, tend to get better jobs more related to their college degree, and make lots more money over the long term. I am very excited about the opportunity to return to give my workshop in the very place that I made my own career change many years ago,” Bohler said.
