Q.
What were you doing before the Oxford
Program and what are you doing now?
A.
When
I went through the Oxford Program I was unemployed and deciding what to do next. I didn't want
to go back to the previous job field, and that was biotech, but wasn't
sure what next. My last job (before quitting) was as a Clinical Data
Assistant in a Genetic company. I now have a new degree and career in Dance/Movement Therapy.
I feel as I am finally doing something that is in sync with what I am and who I am.
Q. Any
other advice?
A.
Stay
open, experiment, and try on the things that you think you would like
to do, BEFORE you make a committed decision. It doesn't have to be a
long period of time, sometimes just trying something for few weeks
helps you either eliminate or go deeper into it. And don't be afraid.
The fear is one of the biggest obstacle of all. Don't think
"well, I can't really try this 'cause I don't have the proper
education or experience or the look or whatever", 'cause that is
just an excuse that works for your fear and not YOU. If you talk to
people and explain them, you will be surprised of how many will give
you the opportunity to have the experience that you thought it's not
possible.

"Books
and articles
I've read
have been
just pieces
of the
puzzle with
no
direction. I
did the
entire 'What
Color is
Your
Parachute'
book in
'95, |
|
| then 'The Pathfinder' in 2002, then went into
real estate...bad choice! I think these books made me more
confused than I was to start with. Your
program is
more focused
on adults and made
all the
difference.
Thank you! Thank you!" |
